Father's Day, an End, and a New Beginning

I started this blog Mother's Day weekend 2008. How appropriate that I will be ending it after Father's Day weekend. More on that later. First, we celebrate Father's Day!

I've said it before and I'll say it again and again. TJ is such a great "Daddy"! Will adores his Daddy - they're best buddies. One of my favorite "Will phrases', when I tell him to eat his meal, he says "So I can grow up big and strong like Daddy!" (while flexing his muscles). Yes sweet boy, so you can be just like your wonderful Daddy!

Sunday morning we woke up to Will's chatter, as usual. When I went in to get him out of bed I told him it was Father's Day and he needed to tell his Daddy "Happy Father's Day" and give him his card and presents. In true Will form, he ran into our bedroom (where TJ was still in bed) and shouted "Happy Mother's Day!". Ha! I LOVE MY BOY!!!!

After I corrected him, he presented TJ with his card and gifts. We had two original "Will Overstreet" works of art framed for TJ's office. One is Will's hand print from last month and the other is a painting he made the first week of school. TJ commented last fall that he would like to have that particular painting framed for his office, so I have been looking forward to giving it to him since then.

After church and lunch at home, we headed to C'ville to surprise Poppy with a Father's Day visit and later a stop at Ama's house. We had shared some big news with Grandad that morning via skype and we were looking forward to sharing it with the rest of the grandparents.

Our big news? Well, that's where the ending of this blog comes in. This site will no longer be appropriate for us because...

WE ARE ADOPTING!!!!!!!!!

We are working on becoming a "Party of 4"! I'll tell you all the details on our new blog "The Adventures of Bubba and Boo"

I hope you will follow along with us there as we embark on this exciting journey. I have loved posting Will's adventures on this blog and I look forward to posting many many more as we seek out a little brother for him!

First Theater Movie!

This afternoon, after the festival and nap time, we took Will to the theater to see his first movie in a theater. We saw Toy Story 3 (in 3D)! Will loves both of the Toy Story movies and now sleeps with his Woody, Buzz, and Bullseye (Thanks again Kevin and Kristina!) instead of Elmo. He especially likes Woody. He has always loved all things "cowboy"!

He did VERY well during the movie, but refused to wear his 3D glasses after the first few scenes.

P.S. - I didn't know this, but kids under the age of 3 are admitted FREE!

Southern Traditions

Few things are more "southern" than RC Cola and a Moon Pie. Every year Bell Buckle, TN puts on a festival in honor of these two southern staples . Even though TJ refers to me as a "mudblood" (I was born in MI; we moved to TN when I was 3) I consider myself a good ol' southern girl through and through! I have wanted to attend this festival for the past five years (when I first found out about it) and today I finally convinced TJ to go. I am shocked he agreed because it was H.O.T.!!! We stayed just long enough to walk through the vendor areas and some of the shops. And of course, the outing wouldn't be complete without enjoying a moon pie. (We opted for water instead of RC!) We were probably only there an hour and a half, but I insist it will be a fond family memory!

This IS Bell Buckle!

Did I mention it was hot!?

Time for a treat!

First Bite!He liked it but then he said it was too hot outside to eat! We headed straight back to the truck and then home to shower and nap. Maybe they will hold the festival in that fall next time!

Adventure Update

We are really enjoying this AdvoCare Adventure! Since May 7th TJ is down 25lbs and 5% body fat!!! I am down 10 lbs and 2% body fat!!! We are feeling great!

From a business standpoint, things are going very well too! Our team is growing and we are helping people feel better left and right. Not to mention that our first check is on it's way and it's going to be a good one. :)

One experience that totally caught me off guard happened Saturday. I had shared the 24 Day Challenge with a 58 year old woman and she began it a week ago. She immediately started feeling better and seeing results. As we were talking Saturday she shared something that surprised me. Her husband is very ill and does not have much longer to live. She said with emotion, "You know, these products have given me hope. I didn't know what I was going to do with myself when my husband passes (she dedicates her life right now to caring for him), but I see an opportunity here to help others and that gives me hope for my future that I haven't had in a long time." I didn't know what to say. I anticipated the excitement of giving someone hope to look or feel better, but never did I imagine I could help give someone hope in the midst of the sadness of losing a spouse.

God is going to do great things through this new adventure of ours. I can't wait!
